Jazz At The Chimes - Mads Tolling Trio at Jazz at the Chimes at Chapel Of The Chimes

Mads Tolling is a two-time Grammy Award Winner and the 2016 Winner of “The DownBeat Critics Rising Star Poll” for the violin. As a former nine-year member of both the Turtle Island Quartet and bassist Stanley Clarke's band, Tolling has spent most his professional life touring internationally, and has performed with jazz luminaries such as Chick Corea, Ramsey Lewis, Kenny Barron and Paquito D'Rivera.

For this Jazz at the Chimes concert, Tolling has put together a new super trio including top Bay Area jazz scene artists - pianist Frank Martin and bassist Gary Brown. Martin performs on a regular basis with Sting’s Rainforest Band, and has worked with many top names in the music industry including Ramsey Lewis, BB King. Bassist Gary Brown has been a long-time member of Brazilian icons Flora & Airto Purim’s band, and he continues to be a creative force in the Bay Area.
