About

We kick off Black History month (which is REALLY every month) with pianist Muziki Roberson’s new group Sirius Bidniss. Muziki is calling this his “20th Annual 50th Birthday Celebration.” Roberson is a gifted, inspired jazz pianist and composer, who for several decades, has thrived in some of the most challenging and creative environments the Bay Area jazz scene has to offer. Muziki presents his original compositions with Dr. James Bailey, saxophone; Marty Wehner, trombone; Aaron Germain, bass; Leon Joyce Jr., drums.

Muziki Roberson is noted for his keyboard work with Mingus Amungus, and spent 12 years with the San Francisco Mime Troupe. He has also worked with legendary violinist Michael White, vocalist Dwight Trible, the Jazz and Poetry ensemble Upsurge, and the late Amiri Baraka. Muziki has played as a headliner for KCSM’s Jazz On The Hill....

All About Jazz needs your support

Donate
All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
