CJC's Way Out West Concert Series provides composer-performers from the Bay Area and beyond with a Tuesday evening showcase for forward-looking original work in jazz and related genres. Join us weekly in Rendon Hall for Way Out West! Ian Carey ("a trumpeter and composer who asks deep musical questions and finds compelling answers" Bill Kirchner, editor, The Oxford Companion to Jazz) and his Quintet+1 have been performing original music throughout the Bay Area for over a decade. The group will be performing music from Carey's new composition "Fire In My Head (The Anxiety Suite)" (commissioned by Chamber Music America) as well as music from their acclaimed albums "Interview Music" and "Roads & Codes" ("4-1/2 stars" Downbeat).,

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
